Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy has signed a new contract which will keep him at Craven Cottage until June 2009.
The 31-year-old has an option of a further year as the West London club look to build on last year's escape from relegation under Roy Hodgson.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool man played a pivotal part in the Cottagers' fight against relegation and scored the goal in the final-day win against Portsmouth which saw the club escape the drop thanks to superior goal difference.

Hodgson is keen to avoid another relegation scrap and is expected to make further signings this summer.
