West Bromwich Albion's Scott Carson has set his sights on regaining his England squad place.
Carson was officially unveiled as a West Brom player for the first time on Friday following his £3.25million move from Liverpool.
The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, was criticised for his error for his country in the Euro 2008 qualifier with Croatia at Wembley.
New England coach Fabio Capello left Carson out of the final two squads of the season for the friendly internationals with the United States and Trinidad and Tobago.
But he is hoping a fresh start at The Hawthorns will enable him to regain his place in the England set-up.
Carson said: "I just want to get settled now. I've been like a nomad for the last three or four years, going out on loan to three different clubs from Liverpool.
roots down
"It will be good to get some roots down and hopefully settle. I can see myself being here for four or five years, even longer than that.
"That's what I want. I did not want to go somewhere and then, after one or two years, not be happy.
"I think I am good enough to get back in the England squad. Hopefully I can settle down and get a bit of consistency and then I will be looking to get back in.
"No-one really said anything and I was left out of the squad at the end of the season but in fairness I didn't have the best couple of games for Villa before the squad was announced.
"That was fair enough. I took it on the chin. It just made me want to get back in the squad."
