Myhill played in his and Hull's first-ever top-flight match on Saturday, a 2-1 win over Fulham. Now the 25-year-old turns his attention to Wales and the chance to face Georgia in Wednesday's friendly international at Swansea's Liberty Stadium.

Myhill admits his career has "snowballed" in recent seasons, having quit Aston Villa as a youngster because he felt he was not good enough to break into their first team.

top level

He said: "It took me five years to get to the Premier League after I left Aston Villa, so it was a great day for me made even better by our first win in the top flight.

"This is a different challenge for me at this level, and it will be a magnificent achievement if the club can continue to build in the way it has done over the time I have been at Hull.

"You never know how far we can go, but we showed again on Saturday the character that has taken us to the top level. If we keep that, we may well be good enough to stay up."
