Gary Megson believes Bolton Wanderers' versatility will help them to push up the Barclays Premier League.
The Trotters made changes for last Saturday's 1-0 win over Hull City where they played with two up front and Matt Taylor and Ricardo Gardner switched wings.
Megson told the club's official website: "I've never been particularly against somebody playing on the opposite side of the field even though it's not their strongest foot."
He added: "I've spoken to Matty about it because what's not going to happen is that he takes the full-back on the outside, putting right-foot crosses into the box because that's not his game.
entirely different
"We have got a team that is adaptable. Hull's manager (Phil Brown) was on the television commenting about how we would play and go with one up front, and he was wrong. We had two forwards up front and we played in an entirely different manner to the one he was describing.
"We can change players in positions during and before games without a huge amount of turmoil."
