The Blues defender was meeting with local pupils who were learning all about the world of the media.

The children were discovering all about composing and editing filmed interviews - with Jags a more than willing 'guest' on their show!

"The kids were terrific and I was delighted to help them out because they were so enthusiastic," he said.

"The questions were good, too. They asked me about my team-mates, my early career and my school-days!"

Jags also took part in an impromptu question & answer session off camera and was more than happy to sign the special 'Jagielka sheets' that the children had designed in the Study Centre on the computers.

The visit was filmed by BBC's Match of the Day 2 programme, that goes on air on a Sunday morning and so the children experienced life on both sides of the camera.

The Study Centre manager, Karla Ogle, said: "The teacher contacted me and said that the children couldn't stop talking on the way back about meeting Phil Jagielka and about being filmed to be on television. They'll be the envy of their school!"
