Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has been ruled out of Saturday's trip to West Bromwich Albion with a calf injury.
The Paraguayan was forced out of Wednesday night's 3-2 defeat at Aston Villa after feeling the injury during the warm-up.
A scan undertaken on Thursday has shown that Santa Cruz has a grade one calf tear and could be out for up to two weeks.
Australia midfielder Vince Grella is also unlikely to feature for Rovers due to a hamstring injury which has prevented him from training this week.
Stephen Warnock suffered concussion during the defeat at Villa, after scoring the opening goal, and is another major doubt, but defender Chris Samba, who missed the previous match against Middlesbrough with an ankle injury, came through Wednesday's match without any problems and should start.
West Brom manager Tony Mowbray must decide whether to recall midfielder Kim Do-Heon after injury.
The South Korea international has returned to full training after missing four games while recovering from knee ligament damage.
Mowbray's dilemma is whether to give the player another full week of training or to plunge him straight back into action against Paul Ince's side after three successive defeats. Striker Ishmael Miller will hope for a start after coming off the bench to score his first goal of the campaign at Newcastle on Tuesday.
